Villa Amanzi
Amanzi is ideally suited for a fun family retreat, with table tennis, foosball and a selection of other games and toys at hand. An iPod in the living-dining area, loaded with a range of tunes, can be piped through a top-notch sound system that will keep everyone entertained day and night. For those who don't wish to escape completely, TVs in four of the bedrooms plus a large flat-screen TV in the downstairs games/media room and WiFi throughout, allow for connection to the outside world. Lighting, air-conditioning and window shade settings are all easily adjusted with remote controls and a touch-screen pad. This blend of high-tech facilities, modern lines and stunning tropical surrounds offers a unique and memorable venue for a wedding, party or company event -- very much a photographer's dream setting.
Villa service is multi-layered with three live-in staff providing the cooking, cleaning and maintenance/gardening, and a complement of services offered by the nearby Paresa Resort (which includes Paresa Grand Villa 5), which manages the villa. These services include transport and tour booking, plus free transfer to and from the resort to enjoy its restaurants, spa and fitness facilities (groceries, tours, taxi, and spa charged to guest's account). The villa cook whips up excellent Thai meals with ease or, for something more elaborate, the chefs from Paresa can prepare a special BBQ dinner at the villa.

Amanzi's unusual design really invites the outside in, with every room feeling closely linked to the sea, the sky and/or the hillside into which the villa is built. The top floor, running parallel to the sea, clings to the rocky cliff at one end and connects to a perpendicular building at the other, forming a bridge that shades the living area below. Large hillside boulders form the north wall of the middle and lower levels. Set in the 'bridge' are three bright guest bedrooms, while the master suite, also on this upper level, features floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides offering stunning views. In a private, sea-facing corner of this suite's wrap-around balcony is a large terrazzo bathtub, while inside the spacious ensuite bathroom is a double shower.
Each of the top-floor guest bedrooms is equipped with sliding glass doors leading to an outdoor walkway at the front, a flat-screen TV (two with DVD players) and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Running the length of the corridor connecting all the bedrooms are giant sliding glass doors facing the hill and garden area, giving the feeling of walking along a mountain path.
Two more bedrooms are found on the lower level next to the family room, both with sea views and ensuite bathrooms with showers. Also on this level is a luxurious bathroom with a large jacuzzi bathtub set under a rain shower next to a sea-view window. The family room has an oversized L-shaped sofa, a large TV with DVD player, table tennis, foosball and a selection of DVDs, board games, books and magazines. All six bedrooms have king-sized beds (three of which can be converted to twins).
The spacious living/dining area is furnished with another large L-shaped sofa and a dining table with bench seating for up to 12. This area features huge glass doors that slide away completely to allow a seamless transition to the gardens and pool terrace. Adjacent is a covered terrace – ideal for less formal meals – with circular table (seats six to eight) cut into a raised wooden platform. Next to the dining area is a bright, well-equipped guest kitchen, where a large frosted glass table (seats eight), plus a counter bar to accommodate a further four people, offers a pleasant place for enjoying a morning coffee.
