Villa Bunga Pangi
Designed around the pool, Villa Bunga Pangi has the potential to be a great holiday home. It offers plenty of space, a private location in tropical surroundings, good facilities and wonderful, attentive, warm staff – including a manager and full-time chef who will shop (breakfast is included but all other provisions on guest account) and prepare Indonesian and Western dishes for you. Four air conditioned ensuite bedrooms – all equipped with their own iPod docks – surround the pool, providing ample space for groups of adults or families. Hours of entertainment are guaranteed courtesy of the air conditioned multimedia room, equipped with a 52-inch flat-screen TV, DVD player, DVD selection, satellite TV and computer connectivity. In fact, wireless internet is available throughout the villa on a ‘voucher-purchase’ basis. It even has an outdoor Bose sound system. Add to this a main pavilion with dining for up to ten people; an attractive, fully-equipped kitchen; a bar and living area; and various other seating areas dotted around the villa, and you can see that Villa Bunga Pangi really does have all the basics – and more – for a luxury holiday.
Now all that’s needed is for this villa to grow into its space; to allow its soul to shine through and establish that ‘welcome home’ feeling.

An architect-designed space, Villa Bunga Pangi is built along traditional Balinese principles, with five separate pavilions invoking a ‘village’ concept. In spite of the community village design, however, rest assured there are plenty of private corners to be found.
Starting at the top, the open-air main pavilion features a dining area, living area (a comfortable, squashy couch and armchair set would add much to this space), and fully-equipped bar setup. A separate kitchen to the right of the dining area comes better equipped than most villa kitchens, not that you will really need to use it, as the in-house chef does come highly recommended.
From this main living pavilion you have a bird’s eye view over the rest of the villa, starting with the grand set of stairs which lead you down to the infinity pool. Surrounded by hardwood decking and kitted out with umbrellas and sunbeds, the pool is quite spectacular, having been designed with multiple depths, including the interesting addition of a lower plunge pool right on the River Pangi.
Situated around the pool are the four air conditioned ensuite bedrooms; the well-equipped multi-media room with its huge couch; a small extra living space/seating area, complete with moveable massage bed; and a river-front deck.
Two of the bedrooms feature extra-large double beds and two come with large twin beds which can be pushed together to form doubles (all the beds are topped with comfortable imported mattresses). Décor is uninspired at present but, as already mentioned, Villa Bunga Pangi is still finding its soul. They do, however, all boast their own iPod connections, personal safes, plenty of closet space in separate dressing areas and ensuite bathrooms with rain shower and bath options. The master bathroom also has a secluded outside tub practically on top of the river for a spot of alfresco bathing.
