The Villas Nai Harn - Emerald Villa
Nai Harn, one of Phuket’s prettiest white-sand beaches, is only one kilometre away. Along the way is a public park with a children’s playground and lagoon. There are plenty of dining options at the beach and in Nai Harn village, from simple noodle shops to upscale Italian, French and other international restaurants. Those wishing to explore will love cruising these coastal roads on Phuket’s southernmost tip, which lead to some of the island’s most picturesque lookout points and lesser-known beaches.
On arrival at Emerald Villa, guests are met by the villa manager who checks in regularly throughout the stay. She can help organise extra services such as car rental, babysitting, massages, taxi service and tours. Complimentary services include in-villa laundry and airport transfer as well as breakfast and lunch prepared daily by the full-time cook—housekeeper (guests pay only for provisions at cost). Alternatively, evening meals may be arranged in place of lunch for a small extra charge. Meals are enjoyed the Thai way on a cushioned platform with a low table in the modern kitchen, alfresco at the main dining table on the balcony, or in the poolside sala (gazebo).

Emerald Villa’s six bedrooms, two living areas, kitchen and fitness—playroom are spread across two levels, with balconies and expansive terracing allowing for wide views of the lush, green hills beyond. Vivid paintings and a mix of Thai and Chinese decorative accents throughout provide a charming dash of colour to the solid earth-toned and teak furnishings. Stretching out from the bottom floor is a large two-tier, sand-wash terrace with a ten-metre swimming pool, barbecue and sala dining area (seats six), surrounded by landscaped tropical gardens.
The master suite is set at the front of the top-floor, offering great hill views from its balcony. This room is tastefully furnished with a four-poster king-size bed, desk and large open wardrobe facing an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub, shower and two vanity sets. A twin-bedded ensuite bedroom is tucked away behind the master suite. The main living room is situated on this floor, featuring two plush brown leather sofas sofa – perfect for families to pile onto for a night of movie-watching on the 50-inch flat-screen TV. Double-wide sliding glass doors open out to the covered balcony, where an eight-seater poly-rattan dining table stands next to a matching sofa set (an ideal spot for enjoying a glass of wine while taking in the views). Just behind the living room is a spacious kitchen featuring a Thai-style dining corner with padded floor seating that’s sure to delight the kids.
Downstairs, two ensuite bedrooms (one king-bedded and the other with a queen-sized bed) enjoy direct access to the pool terrace. The king-bedded room could serve as a second master suite, having an elegant four-poster bed and spacious ensuite with a bathtub. The remaining two bedrooms are connected by a shared bathroom: one features a queen-sized bed and the other a single bed with a trundle bed beneath. Towards the back of the lower storey is a fun fitness and play room furnished with a sofa and bean-bag chairs, plus an exercise bike, elliptical trainer, TV-DVD player, iPod dock and Wii, as well as a selection of board games.
