Villa Infinity
Follow the music to a river that flows swiftly past the bottom of the garden, linking this massive estate to the verdant rice terraces which climb all the way to the top of the hill beyond, creating a beautiful contrast of modern and ancient, of west and east. On one side, Balinese farmers tend their crops as they have done for centuries, wearing conical straw hats and brandishing sickles as they chase away the birds and irrigate the paddies; whilst on the other side it is easy to imagine sophisticated party guests sipping champagne and nibbling canapés in their posh frocks and bikinis.
This villa can accommodate up to 14 adults and 12 children so is really wide open for parties, weddings, or large family reunions. There are seven luxurious bedrooms and a 'dormitory' room with six sets of bunk beds, just perfect for the kids. The grounds are expansive and feature the most elegant coconut-tree-dotted lawns that roll down to the Pangi River. A trumpet of white elephants and a cluster of indigenous totem poles add a touch of panache and mystery to the scene.
To cap it all, the driver and car at Infinity are inclusive (petrol extra), as is airport pickup; there is a grocery and a menu system in place (provisions at cost plus service charge), along with two chefs to prepare five-star culinary delights and personal butlers to serve them.

Villa Infinity comprises a series of single-storey pavilions, terraces, ornamental ponds and a large swimming pool, positioned within an extensive garden and presenting a number of different areas where guests can escape for a bit of privacy. Each room is accented with red accessories and fiery artwork.
In keeping with the theme, the living pavilion is also vast, with open sides, a soaring roof and a huge sofa, bordered on either side by frog-filled lotus ponds, and bridged by stone walkways. Next to this is the dining pavilion, open on two sides with a high roof and an integrated glass-fronted bar with five stools. This fan-cooled room, offering glorious views of the rice terraces and mountains, is furnished with an antique dining table and 14 wicker chairs reminiscent of wine goblets. On another side of the garden is the air conditioned media/games room, fitted with a pool table, games, and a 50-inch TV with DVD player and surround-sound. The professional kitchen is fully equipped with everything the chef needs including a commercial chiller, freezer and fridge, oven, gas hobs, microwave, as well as high quality tableware and glassware.
There are eight air conditioned bedrooms at Infinity, each with an ensuite bathroom with standing rainshower, and a 42-inch TV/DVD player. Seven of the bedrooms have king beds and one has six sets of bunk beds, which can accommodate 12 children. Six of the indoor/outdoor bathrooms have soaking tubs, three of which are open to the sky. One bedroom has a sitting room furnished with a lounging sofa that could double as an extra children’s bed. Finally, the villa’s most romantic bedroom is housed in a charming and traditional Javanese timber building located in a peaceful corner of the garden beside the river.
Villa Infinity’s rolling lawns are dotted with white frangipani trees and bordered by spider lilies and coconut palms. Here, the main focus is the 39m swimming pool complete with a shallow area for kids, and an ironwood deck. Situated between the pool and the river is a large balé (relaxation pavilion) furnished with a hand-carved Timorese tabletop, which serves as a platform for massage, a wedding altar, or as a table for riverside dining.
