Jagaditha
Completed in November 2010, Jagaditha is elegant, simple, and immaculately presented; its build and landscaping complement its seaside situation and contrast wonderfully with the tumultuous sea views that can be enjoyed whether swimming, relaxing or dining. Each suite comes with its own private veranda or terrace, and benefits from a host of modern facilities including gorgeous bathrooms with huge rain showers. Comfort in the form of Ploh bedding and towels, thick King Koil mattresses and gorgeous natural amenities blends luxury with simplicity as uncluttered suites focus exclusively on providing the means to savour the serene sea views. The huge central living pavilion shares these views breezily and elegantly from a central position in the garden.
Jagaditha means ‘our world’ and certainly the 16-strong staff team, including your own chef, welcome you into theirs as they provide a discreet service, and carryout any request with ease. Experienced therapists from a renowned local spa can provide treatments in the dedicated spa room whilst further health benefits can be reaped from a visit to the villa’s own mini-gym. A huge wall-mounted TV with DVD player, Bose sound system and Nintendo Wii are further facilities to be found in an air conditioned lounge whose attached bathroom comes with a steam shower.
A car with driver is available to guests during their stay, plus complimentary membership of the Canggu Club where sports facilities, restaurants and a creche can be found. The property suits larger groups, and pairs of families holidaying together; its two twin rooms come with trundle beds, there’s a childrens’ food menu and a plethora of baby equipment available for use – monitors, bottle sterilisers, a baby bath, high chairs, a baby cot and toys.

Spread between a pair of two-storey buildings and a further two single-storey pavilions, each of Jagaditha’s suites enjoys an equally mesmerising outlook whether the gaze is across the delightful lily pond or out over the front lawn to the ocean beyond. Bedrooms – two twins and four king-size doubles – each come with four-poster beds, dressing areas, iPod docks and a private balcony or terrace furnished with lounge seating as well as gorgeous bathrooms featuring oversized tubs, 50cm-wide shower heads, twin sinks, locally made natural toiletries and open-to-the-sky courtyards.
The very central living and dining pavilion overlooks the garden and sea, and is immaculately furnished with a deep, antique, opium daybed, a collection of sofas and a rare one-piece teak dining table encircled by ten chairs. Ceiling fans descend from the high thatched roof whilst pendant lamps fall almost to the floor. A regal walkway takes you from this living area into a contemporary, beautifully fitted kitchen that’s furnished with everything for the modern cook, though with a chef included amongst the villa staff it’s quite likely that you’ll never need to use it.
Beside the kitchen is a pavilion housing an air conditioned lounge with a wall-mounted wide-screen satellite TV, DVD player and Nintendo Wii opposite oversized sofas. To the far end of this room is an air conditioned gym with Power Plate and rowing machine whilst to the opposite end is a washroom with steam shower and courtyard garden with second shower open to the skies above.
To the other side of the kitchen is a pavilion that simply houses an air conditioned spa room with massage table and iPod dock where treatments, carried out by outsourced therapists, take place. To the far side of this building is a pool lounge that leads onto an alfresco dining table for eight beside a stacked stone wall where glorious views over the pool and sea can be enjoyed. On the opposite side of the garden is a sunset pavilion where, as its name suggests, you can relax and enjoy the colours of the sky at dusk.
