Villa Jamalu
But Jamalu is also a dream holiday pad for kids (as if to prove the point, the villa’s name is derived from the first two letters of owners’ children’s names); there’s a Sony PlayStation 3 connected to one of the big screens, lots of games and toys, and an ingenious pool fence that can be erected to stop toddlers falling in. To entertain the grown ups there’s a very well-equipped gym and massage room hidden away in the large basement along with a stunning pool lounge complete with imported 9ft American pool table.
Built over two levels (plus the basement), Villa Jamalu enjoys majestic views out over the hillside and across to the ocean. On the first floor is a large outdoor terrace with wonderful sunset panoramas, making this the perfect spot for outdoor dining. Joined to the terrace is a covered wooden veranda that runs the length of the first floor frontage. The views can also be enjoyed from the charming open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area.. All the interiors are smartly designed and colour coordinated in the best quality furnishings and fabrics with tasteful contemporary artwork to match. The stylish master bedroom also boasts a sea view, plus a jacuzzi in its marble ensuite. The 15 x 7m salt water pool is one of the deepest you’re likely to find at a villa. On the far side of the pool is an enormous shaded daybed, while loungers line the pool on the villa side. More sun loungers can be found on the first floor terrace, whilst the comfortable double lounger on a hidden grassed terrace is a great place to snuggle up with a good book.
Only one kilometre from the beach and famous seafood barbeque in Jimbaran, Villa Jamalu is located within the Temple Hill gated complex ensuring privacy and no security concerns. With two housekeepers, an excellent chef and charming manageress you’re very well catered for; the staff will also shop for you and prepare meals from a suggestion menu (groceries are on guest account).

This villa has it all! Starting in the basement there’s a seriously well-equipped gym complete with fridge, flat-screen TV and DVD player, all in front of a mirrored wall. Next door is a massage room with a professional bed. Whilst also leading off the large hallway is a guest washroom and classy pool lounge equipped with fridge, large flat-screen TV plus home entertainment system, stylish sofas and a 9ft American pool table.
The ground floor of the villa’s large U-shaped structure houses three bedrooms with sliding doors opening onto the pool. All the bedrooms (including the master upstairs) are the same size, with similar characteristics but individual colour themes. Queen-size beds are a mix of teak four-posters and contemporary bedsteads. Leather blanket boxes are paired with cow-print easy chairs. All bedrooms have Bose iPod docking; two also have TVs and DVDs. Finished in matching marble, the ensuites all have standing showers; one of the downstairs bathrooms also has a bathtub, while the master suite offers a jacuzzi. Also located on the ground floor is a small office and a second good-size lounge with Bose home entertainment system, a large flat-screen TV and a Sony PlayStation. This lounge is decorated in elegant turquoise shades; a long sofa, loveseat and antique four-poster daybed surround a solid teak coffee table.
A winding wooden stairway, in keeping with the wood floors found throughout the villa, ascends to the first floor and divides a long room into living and dining/kitchen areas. This room enjoys a fabulous ocean view through glass doors and has the option of being closed off and air conditioned or opened up to let the sea breeze in. The lounge has another large flat-screen TV and Bose home entertainment system, long sofas and a loveseat.
A long teak banquet table sits twelve in comfy rattan carvers next to a well-equipped kitchen with sleek black granite work surfaces. Outside on the terrace an all-weather rattan dining table sits twelve for dinners under the stars, while sofas, a round stone table and a double sun-lounger with parasol complete the scene. The first floor terrace and the poolside are both wired for sound.
