Kadju House
The first floor of the villa is perhaps where you will spend much of your time; with a sea-view, elongated infinity swimming pool set just a few footsteps from a cushioned lounge, cooling dips at any time of the sun-drenched day or under a star-filled night are irresistible. An iPod docking station, surround-sound speakers and an open-air bar make this a great spot to chill out and enjoy some quality time with a loved one or perhaps a sophisticated get-together amongst friends. There are no TVs, phones or internet in the villa which make it feel like a true escape.
Kadju House is staffed by a team of five, including three very efficient houseboys and an experienced chef (food is on guest account either ‘at cost’ or for an agreed full-board rate), who take care of the house and each guest that comes to stay with a charm unique to this part of the island. A dining table is located on the ground floor, however nothing is too much trouble for the staff and a table can be set upstairs, in the garden, or even on the beach for a special occasion. Aside from its excellent rejuvenating atmosphere – it even has its own ayurvedic spa – Kadju House makes a great base to explore the region’s beaches, wildlife parks and Buddhist temples.

Steps lead up through the garden to a courtyard with stone floor. Just before the courtyard is the Pool Suite with double platform bed overlooking the garden, folding doors onto a private terrace and bathroom with shower.
A little further along from this bedroom is a small kitchen on the left-hand side which leads through to a side garden and the staff quarters. Towards the rear of the courtyard is a modern wooden dining table for eight which overlooks the garden to the front and back. When the weather deteriorates, a rattan blind is rolled down to form a ‘back wall’.
On either side of the courtyard are two bedrooms with matching carved temple doors. To the left is the Garden Suite, which has twin beds on a raised platform enclosed by a curtain of mosquito netting. This suite has a wardrobe, folding doors onto the rear garden and an enclosed fish pond in the bathroom right beside the concrete tub (with shower).
Opposite Garden is the Courtyard Suite with its double platform bed in the centre and long wooden table to the rear. The bed looks out over the garden through folding glass doors which open onto its own private terrace. To either side of these doors are two built-in wardrobes with cinnamon-wood doors. Louvered doors to the side of the room lead to a private garden. The attached bathroom has a concrete island with washbasin as well as an open-air shower shaded by a frangipani tree.
Steps lead from the courtyard to the first floor bedroom, open-air bar, sea-view lounge and swimming pool. The Sea Suite is similar to Courtyard Suite in layout and design although it has a sea-view balcony instead of a terrace. In the attached bathroom there is a semi open-air double bathtub with shower overhead and window looking out to sea. All four bedrooms are fan-cooled.
The lounge on the first floor has cushioned sofa seating, is fan-cooled and overlooks the elongated infinity swimming pool and the ocean beyond. Picture windows look out to the back and side gardens. To the rear of the villa, its cinnamon walls merging into the jungle background, the spa consists of one treatment room and a reception area on the ground floor as well as a staff room on the first floor.
