A classic example of tropical luxury, Villa La Cigale is elegantly furnished with a blend of Thai and modern decor details, from Buddha statues to rich abstract paintings. The sense of space and height offered by the northern Thai, Lanna-style architecture is further enhanced with the skylight that runs along the top of the peaked roof. Fantastic ocean views are offered from Villa La Cigale's top floor, which houses a bright kitchen, dining room and a lavish living area, all set around a central wooden staircase that leads downstairs to the bedrooms. Vaulted ceilings, folding doors that stretch from wall to wall, and a choice of air conditioning or fans keep this room cool, day and night, while one-touch lighting control easily sets the right mood. The terrace is well shaded with a lovely vaulted teak roof, and fan cooled for comfortable outdoor dining and relaxing. To the side is the seven-metre infinity pool, beautifully positioned to capture the best sea views, set in a walled garden space with an outdoor shower. Carved stone frescoes on the wall alongside the pool and stone elephant fountains guarding the steps further boost its grace and charm.

Inside, the living space is divided into two, with one section at the front furnished with a daybed and Thai-style triangular floor cushions around a low table, ideal for a bit of stretching out. Behind, arranged to face the large wall-mounted TV, is a plush cream sofa and chair set. Those who wish to prepare their own meals have a well-equipped modern western kitchen at hand – though the superb dining choices available within the villa estate and in Patong make self-catering unlikely. An elegant wood dining table can seat six, with seating for another six offered at the oval wooden table on the terrace.

All three bedrooms are located on the lower floor, providing a great deal of privacy. The master suite with a king-sized bed features a jacuzzi bathtub set inside the bedroom. Beside it is a slightly smaller bedroom with a king-sized bed. The sea views from these rooms are superb, especially from their shared balcony, which has a partition for added privacy. A third bedroom, set at the back, is a nice space for children with twin beds. The sparkling ensuite bathrooms of all three bedrooms have double vanity sets and a shower.

A single covered car parking space is provided at the villa with more parking available at the secured main entrance down the hill. Free buggy service to and from the villa is offered 24 hours a day.
