The central, open-plan living/dining area at Villa Michaela has vast sliding doors that open on both sides to the terrace and pool. White walls, terrazzo floors and a vaulted white-limed wooden ceiling frames the striking interior design features that include a huge Buddha, a black chandelier and an enormous painting of an Asian child. The dining area has a round, white table with matching high-backed chairs and the living room continues this monochrome theme with pale sofas and soft, inviting cushions. Set behind the living space, a small den is reached via the glassed-in floating staircase. This cosy chill out area has a flat-screen TV and DVD player.

The kitchen is spacious and well designed with an impressive range of stainless steel kitchen appliances. A large mirror hangs above the sink area on the high ‘floating’ wall which connects the kitchen to the main living area.

The monochromatic theme continues through to the bedrooms. The two at the front of the villa have stunning sea views and light decor, while the two behind the main living area have mountain views and contrasting dark wood and ebony art. These four bedrooms enjoy luxurious ensuite bathrooms with enormous terrazzo sunken tubs, bamboo features and skylights. The fifth bedroom, below the swimming pool, boasts a jet-black four-poster bed set against a grey stone wall. The ensuite here has a walk-in shower, separate toilet and an elegant sink and mirror. All five rooms offer air conditioning, ceiling fans and king-size beds and have 42-inch TVs, DVD players and iPod docks.

Outside, the pool terrace is dominated by the incredible views and the stunning 18m, infinity pool. Comfortable white, rattan sun loungers and outdoor furniture await repose, while a built- in barbecue with its own bar area stands ready to party when you are.

Taking the stairs on either side of the swimming pool brings you to a gymnasium, the fifth bedroom and the pièce de résistance, a fully equipped, Cinema Paradiso with 12 black leather cinema seats, projector and screen. Also located on the lower level, tucked into the underside of the villa is a fully complemented spa with a large massage room, steam room, toilet and shower facilities.
