You are likely to spend a lot of time at Baan Paradise gazing over the magnificent views of Patong Bay and the jungly headland beyond. As you bask in the serenity that this hillside location offers – relaxing in the 14m turquoise infinity pool to music from the Bose speakers , bubbling in the Jacuzzi or simply soaking up the rays from your sun lounger – Phuket’s liveliest beach resort, Patong, with its restaurants, nightclubs and shops, is only a fifteen minute walk away.

The interior of this villa feels majestic and spacious with its five bedrooms and clutch of living areas spread between three floors. Baan Paradise would undoubtedly make a great party pad and would also suit couples and families (although the lack of a garden may make it less appropriate for younger children who want to let off steam). All the bedrooms, especially those on the first floor, are generously sized and have rich glossy wood floors and high ceilings; the lofty ceiling at the front of the living and dining area is a full two storeys high. Folding or sliding doors lead onto private balconies or directly onto the pool terrace to make the most of the spectacular views. The villa is decorated with a combination of antiques and contemporary furnishings and enhanced by a selection of mod cons including an entertainment room with 60-inch wall-mounted plasma screen TV with surround-sound, DVD player and Playstation II – perfect for keeping the kids amused!

There are many restaurants in the local area to tempt you if you can bear to part with Baan Paradise for a few hours, however the villa does come with the services of a cook who creates Thai cuisine to order from morning until night (American-style breakfast included in the rate; other provisions on guest account). Alternatively, a fully-equipped western-style kitchen is available for guests’ use as well as a second kitchen downstairs beside the entertainment room – ideal for midnight snacks. The villa also has a housekeeper and a manager who can be called upon 24 hours a day to assist with arrangements for travel, restaurant bookings, sightseeing and shopping.

The entrance foyer of the villa has a stairway on the left leading up to the first floor and down to the basement. Straight through the foyer is an open-plan elongated living and dining area which features a couple of comfortable sofas, an attached guest bathroom, a circular dining table for eight and a fully-equipped western-style kitchen. Folding doors running the length of this room open onto the furnished pool terrace and overlook the spectacle of Patong Bay.

To the right of the kitchen is Pool Bedroom 1 which has folding doors onto the pool terrace and picture windows to take in the spectacular views. With a king-size bed, built-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with corner tub and over-bath shower, this room boasts the best bay views from bed!

To the right of the living area is Pool 2 which is similar in its bedroom and bathroom layout to Pool 1. Folding doors lead onto a dining terrace with views over the length of the pool to Patong Bay. Picture windows overlook the tropical plants of the side garden.

On the first floor of the villa are two further bedrooms as well as a study with internet-facilitated computer, fax and telephone for guests’ use. To the left of the study is a large double bedroom with cushioned cane seating, built-in wardrobes, a TV with DVD player and sliding doors onto a private balcony overlooking Patong. The bathroom has a tub and free-standing shower.

To the right of the study is the largest bedroom. Featuring a king-size bed, cushioned cane seating, a writing desk, built-in wardrobes and a bathroom with jacuzzi tub and free-standing shower, the room also has a private balcony with fabulous bay views and a 32-inch flat-screen TV with satellite connection and DVD player.

In the basement are the fifth bedroom, the second kitchen and the entertainment room which features a 60-inch wall-mounted plasma screen satellite TV with surround-sound, DVD player, Playstation II and an American pool table. The fifth bedroom contains a double and a single bed (ideal for the kids) as well as a built-in cupboard and ensuite bathroom with shower. All bedrooms have individually controlled air conditioning and ceiling fans.
