Spectacular panoramic views of Patong Bay can be appreciated from nearly every angle of this contemporary five-bedroom villa, which is located on a hilly southern headland just a fifteen-minute walk from town. Folding picture-windows open onto a sun-drenched sand-coloured terrace with free-form swimming pool from where you can gaze at the calm azure water and dramatic landscape of this wide arc of bay with its backdrop of jungle-clad hills. Admire the energetic jet skiers in the bay from your tranquil position high up on the hillside or give yourself a workout in your own personal gym. Watch as the evening sun makes its way over the bay until its crimson illuminations give way to the seductive glow of Patong’s glittering lights.

Occupying a broad piece of land, Pra-Nang feels very spacious, sociable and fun making it ideal for families and groups of friends. Whilst the building is designed in the traditional Thai style with double roofs and fish-scale tiles, the interiors are contemporary and calm. Crisp white walls and light coloured tiles make the property look fresh and provide an elegant backdrop for the collection of Buddhist statues, wall hangings and antiques that give character to the villa. Each comfortable bedroom opens onto a front terrace enhanced by colourful tropical potted plants whilst mirror-tinted French windows provide privacy for those inside as they reflect the panorama of Patong and make the villa feel a little more spacious.

There are many restaurants in the local area to tempt you if you can bear to part with the villa for a few hours, however the villa does come with the services of a cook who creates Thai cuisine to order from morning until night (American-style breakfast is included in the rate, whilst provisions for all other meals are on guest account, with staff on hand to shop for you). Alternatively, a fully-equipped Western-style kitchen is available for guests’ use. The villa also has a housekeeper and a manager who can be called upon 24 hours a day to assist you in making any arrangements for travel, restaurant bookings, sightseeing and shopping.

You enter Villa Pra-Nang into a spacious open-plan living and dining area with views through folding French windows over the pool terrace towards Patong Bay. White tiled floors provide an elegant backdrop to the eye-catching art collection whilst sophisticated modern furnishings blend with a sprinkling of antiques.

To the rear of this space is an open-plan western kitchen with grey granite worktops and stainless steel amenities , and a dining area with a round wooden table and wicker chairs to seat eight. To the front, the living area is furnished with two long sofas that overlook the bay and a wall-mounted 40-inch plasma screen TV and DVD player with surround-sound.

To the left of the living room is the split level, gold-accented master bedroom with twin folding doors onto a private front terrace and lower pool terrace, where a table and chairs offer alfresco dining for ten. With matching silk cushions, curtains, blinds and lampshades (a feature of each bedroom), this room has a king-size bed, antique cupboards, a desk and an elongated bathroom with shower.

To the far side of the living room are two sets of doors onto the upper pool terrace from where the best views of the bay can be appreciated. The next two bedrooms are similar in size and design featuring grey-accented furnishings, double bed, wardrobe, folding doors onto the terrace and a bathroom with shower. The free-form swimming pool and large jacuzzi are just a few footsteps away.

The fourth bedroom is a spacious yellow-hued twin featuring two double beds, a couple of antique wardrobes and a bathroom with shower. Folding doors lead onto the upper pool terrace whilst a window overlooks the western hillside.

To the far side of the lower pool terrace is the pink-accented fifth bedroom, with king-size bed, wardrobe, bathroom with shower, folding doors onto the terrace and windows overlooking the pool.

On a lower level, reached via some steps at the side of the terrace, is a glass-walled fitness centre with a treadmill, a bicycle and weights as well as a pool table and table tennis table. Villa Pra-Nang is fully air conditioned.
